Good morning!

Spring is starting to show up around town which means more events, markets, and reasons to get out of the house… finally.

👆 Me getting out of the house for the first time this year.

This week’s newsletter has a little bit of everything:

Let’s get into it. ⬇️

A Message From Patriarch Roofing

"Exceeding Expectations. Shingle By Shingle."

Patriarch Roofing is proud to serve homeowners in Wentzville and the surrounding communities.

As a locally owned, family-operated company, we’re committed to integrity, clear communication, and quality workmanship on every project.

Missouri weather brings hail, high winds, and heavy rain — and even small storm damage can turn into costly repairs if ignored.

That’s why we provide thorough, honest property assessments. Most inspections take only about 20 minutes to complete, and nearly half of the homes we inspect show no significant damage. Transparency matters.

Whether you need a full roof replacement, storm damage evaluation, siding, or gutters, our team is here to protect what matters most — your home and your family.

📰 Wentzville Updates

🗑️ New Trash Carts Arriving for Wentzville Residents

By now you may have already seen the announcement about new trash carts — maybe in the mail, maybe in your inbox, maybe posted in three different Facebook groups (I’ve seen it in all three 😅).

But just in case it slipped through the cracks, here’s the quick rundown.

Wentzville residents will begin receiving new trash, recycling, and yard-waste carts starting the week of March 16 as part of the City’s transition to updated solid-waste operations with Meridian Waste.

New carts will be delivered on your regular trash day between mid-March and April, and your old carts will be picked up the following week. Residents should continue using their current carts until they are removed.

What’s changing:

  • Trash pickup days will stay the same

  • Meridian will begin handling billing and customer service starting May 1

  • Residents will receive RFID-tagged carts to help track collections

  • Personal yard-waste carts will no longer be accepted

For most households, the average monthly cost is expected to decrease, and recycling will continue to be provided at no additional cost.

For questions, contact the city at (636) 639-7599 or [email protected].

🌟 A Hidden Gem

Last week’s hidden gem got a lot of love, which confirmed something I’ve been thinking for a while:

There are way more cool things around Wentzville than most of us realize.

So we’re going to keep the series going.

This week’s hidden gem is something that honestly surprised me…

A giant public telescope hidden in a county park.

No joke.

Most of us know Broemmelsiek Park for the dog park, the lake, or maybe the trails. But tucked inside the park is something most people drive past without realizing what it is.

Missouri’s largest public-viewing telescope.

And the best part? You can actually use it.

The astronomy area at Broemmelsiek hosts free public stargazing nights on Fridays (when the weather cooperates), run by volunteers from the Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri.

They’ll set up the telescope and help people look at things you normally only see in photos - galaxies, star clusters, planets, and nebulae.

Which got me thinking…

This might actually be one of the best low-key date nights around Wentzville.

No tickets.
No crowds.

Just driving out to a quiet park, looking up at the sky, and seeing things most of us never notice because we’re usually staring at our phones.

Even if you don’t catch an official stargazing night, the park itself is beautiful after sunset and the astronomy field is open 24/7 for people with their own telescopes.

Places like this remind me that sometimes the coolest experiences aren’t the ones we drive to St. Louis for.

They’re the ones hiding 20 minutes from home.
