A little newsletter news before we get to the fun stuff: What’s Up Wentzville has moved to Wednesday mornings, giving you an extra day to browse, make plans, and get your weekend on the calendar.

And this week? We’ve got live music, fireworks, international flavors, spooky-season history, fall festivities, plenty of books, and a few ideas that might turn into a pretty great date night. There’s a lot happening around here, so let’s get to it!

📌 A Few Things to Know

✅ Missouri Voter Registration Deadline Is Today

Planning to vote in the November 3 general election? Wednesday, October 7, is the deadline to register in Missouri. If you still need to register or update your information, check the official Missouri election calendar and St. Charles County Election Authority.

🚧 I-70 Traffic Change Near Wentzville

The I-70 construction project between Foristell and Wentzville is bringing another traffic change. Westbound traffic shifted left onto new pavement, and the David Hoekel Parkway westbound on- and off-ramps are scheduled to close for 30 days beginning October 6. Two lanes are expected to remain open during peak travel times, but give yourself extra time and check MoDOT’s latest construction update

Friday, October 9

📍 Broemmelsiek Park – Agriculture Educational Garden
⏰ 5-10 PM

This is a 45-minute scenic hayride followed by an hour around a campfire where your group can roast treats. Wagons are available at 5, 6, 7, or 8 pm, Fridays and Saturdays through November 6.

Pre-registration is required, and a wagon is $125 for a group of up to 20.

Saturday, October 10

📍 Cedar Lake Cellars, 11008 Schreckengast Road, Wright City
⏰ 10 AM-10 PM

Fine wine, good food, live music, yard games, and fireworks? Yes, please. Cedar Lake Cellars is going big for its 16th Annual Fall Fest, with live music all day long, a festival field full of yard games, plenty of food and drinks, and fireworks to wrap up the night. Bring your friends and make a whole day of it—or turn it into a fall date night.

📍 Historic Main Street, St. Charles
⏰ 11 AM-6 PM

Take a walk through St. Charles’ spooky side, where Halloween history comes to life along Historic Main Street. Expect ghost stories, costumed characters, historical exhibits, live music, and plenty of old-fashioned Halloween atmosphere. It’s free to attend, and it’s a fun one if you’re looking for something a little different from the usual pumpkin patch and trunk-or-treat lineup.

📍 New Town Amphitheater, St. Charles
⏰ 11 AM-5 PM

Travel the world without leaving St. Charles County! The city’s first International Food Festival will bring authentic food and cultural traditions from around the globe to New Town, along with cultural performances, artisan vendors, and unique merchandise. Come hungry, stay awhile, and discover something new—you might even find a new favorite dish along the way.

📍 Broemmelsiek Park, 1795 Hwy. DD, Defiance
⏰ 1:30 — 3PM

Get into the holiday spirit a little early with a hands-on afternoon of wreath making at Broemmelsiek Park. You’ll use freshly gathered greenery and natural materials from the county parks to create your own one-of-a-kind wreath, with all crafting supplies, plus light snacks and refreshments, provided. It’s a fun option for a creative afternoon with a friend or family member—and definitely something a little different from the usual fall activities. Ages 12+, $5 per person, and preregistration is required.

📍 St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center
⏰ 5-7 PM

Costumes, candy, and a little Halloween fun —for both two-legged and four-legged guests! Head to the Pet Adoption Center for trunk-or-treating with candy for the kids and treats for your furry friends. Check the county calendar for any last-minute details before you go.

📍 Historic Daniel Boone Home, 1868 Hwy. F, Defiance
⏰ 6–10 PM

It’s a lantern-lit walk through the historic village with stories and legends from generations past. Tickets are limited: $10 for village-only or $15 for the village plus Boone Home admission. Boone Home tour times are assigned during registration.

Sunday, October 11

📍 The Quarry, 3960 Highway Z, Wentzville
⏰ 11 AM–3 PM

If your idea of a good Sunday involves books, browsing, and discovering something you didn’t know you needed, this event should be on your list. This free, all-ages market brings together 25+ vendors and local authors, plus a community book swap, kids’ activities, and plenty of opportunities to find your next great read—or maybe meet the person who wrote it.

There’s a charitable twist, too: bring a personal care item for Helping Hands 4 Families and you’ll receive a raffle ticket. Come browse, swap, shop, and spend a few hours celebrating all things books right here in Wentzville.

⏰ Saturday–Monday, October 10–12, 10 AM–6 PM

The Renaissance Festival is almost out of time! There are still weekends through October 25, plus Monday, October 12, to enjoy the jousts, live entertainment, artisans, and festival food. If you’ve been saying “we should go,” consider this your friendly nudge before the season wraps up.

📍 Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis

Need a little fall shopping inspiration? The Best of Missouri Market brings together more than 150 regional artisans, crafters, and food and beverage producers. Add live music and family activities, and you have a full day of browsing, snacking, and discovering local-made goodies.

Admission: $18 for ages 13+, $9 for ages 3–12; member pricing is available. The event is rain or shine.

📍 Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum, Missouri Botanical Garden

For anyone who loves books and a little peaceful time, this is your kind of gathering. Bring whatever you’re currently reading, settle in for some quiet reading time, and explore the Garden’s Literary Garden exhibition while you’re there.

Included with Garden admission; Garden members enter free.

Grab your blankets and lawn chairs—Frights & Bites is bringing an outdoor screening of Hocus Pocus, food trucks, and family-friendly activities to Heartland Park. It’s the City’s final outdoor movie event of the year, and it’s free to attend. Just leave the pets at home; this one isn’t dog-friendly.
