Good Morning!

This week feels like summer officially walked in, put its keys on the counter, and started filling the calendar without asking anyone if they were ready.

We’ve got a free Wentzville concert at Rotary Park, goat yoga at Flower Coffee Collective, a three-day RV showcase, a kids’ musical, pottery with puppies, live music all over the place, a St. Charles car celebration, a European auto show in Chesterfield, and a taco festival in St. Louis that appears to be operating under the very scientific principle of “more tacos is better.”

Hard to argue with that.

Board of Adjustment Meeting

Wentzville’s Board of Adjustment meets at City Hall to discuss city matters. Not exactly “bring a lawn chair and snacks” energy, but useful if you like keeping up with what is happening locally.

Missouri Summer RV Showcase
📍 Camping World, Wentzville
⏰ Friday and Saturday 9 AM–7 PM, Sunday 11 AM–5 PM

Camping World is hosting a three-day Missouri Summer RV Showcase with special pricing on new and used RVs, doorbuster specials, onsite activities, and a chance to enter to win a new RV.

Descendants the Musical

Wentzville Christian Church’s Kids Summer Drama Camp presents Disney’s Descendants the Musical. Admission is free, and it looks like a fun way to support local kids who spent the week putting a show together.

Pottery & Painting with Puppies

Imagination Pottery Studio is hosting a pottery and painting night with puppies, which is one of those event titles that does not need much explanation. Paint something, see puppies, leave happier than you arrived.

Elderberry Place is Celebrating 11 Years

Elderberry Place is celebrating 11 years with sales, snacks, drawings, and birthday fun. A good excuse to stop by if you like small shops, local gifts, and the kind of place where “I’ll just look around” is usually a lie.

That 80’s Band
📍 Frankie Martin’s Garden, Cottleville

That 80’s Band is playing a free, all-ages show at Frankie Martin’s Garden. BOGO happy hour runs from 3–6 PM, which is very helpful if your Friday night plan involves pretending you remember every lyric from 1986.

Cedar Lake Cellars is hosting a country music and dancing night in the Barrel Room. Line dancing lessons start at 6:30 PM, then the night rolls into live country energy and dancing.

America 250 Concert Series: The Lone Rangers

Wentzville’s America 250 Concert Series kicks off at Rotary Park with The Lone Rangers, a live 90s cover band playing recognizable hits. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, enjoy food trucks and kids’ entertainment, and settle in for a free summer concert.

Healing Your Inner Child Day Retreat

The St. Louis European Auto Show returns for its 38th year, raising money for St. Louis Arc. Expect European cars, a long-running local tradition, and enough beautiful machines to make the parking lot feel like a museum with better engine noise.

Fourth of July Celebration

Wentzville’s Fourth of July Celebration will include a parade and free fireworks visible from Rotary Park. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:30 PM, so go ahead and mentally prepare for the annual “where are we parking?” conversation.

America 250 Concert Series: Breakdown Shakedown

The next America 250 Concert Series show brings Breakdown Shakedown to the Wentzville Community Club. It’s another free summer concert with regional music, kids’ entertainment, and food trucks.

St. Charles County Fair
📍 Rotary Park, Wentzville
⏰ Tuesday, July 28–Saturday, August 1

The St. Charles County Fair returns to Rotary Park for five days of classic county fair energy, including carnival rides, entertainment, exhibits, 4-H/FFA events, rodeo, motorsports, and all the things that make July feel very July around here.

Some parks are “there’s a playground and a bench.”

And then some parks are “wait, why did no one tell me there was a whole mini outdoor universe tucked off the highway?”

Quail Ridge Park is the second kind.

It sits at 560 Interstate Drive in Wentzville, which means a lot of people have technically driven past it without really clocking how much is hiding back there.

And there is a lot hiding back there.

Rolling pastures.

Wooded hillsides.

Bottomland near Peruque Creek.

More than seven miles of paved and natural-surface trails.

Fishing lakes and ponds.

Playgrounds.

Shelters.

A dog park.

An 18-hole disc golf course.

And, because apparently the park needed one more oddly specific flex, it is also home to the National Horseshoe Pitchers Hall of Fame.

Which is exactly the kind of sentence that makes you stop and say, “I’m sorry, the what is in Wentzville?”

The National Horseshoe Pitchers Hall of Fame.

Right here.

In the same general place where you can take a walk, let the kids burn off energy, fish for a while, play disc golf, or bring a dog who believes every outing should involve at least six new smells and one dramatic sprint.

Quail Ridge has that nice local-park quality where it can be whatever kind of outing you need it to be.

If you want a low-effort family afternoon, it works.

If you want a long walk where you can pretend you are a person who “gets outside more,” it works.

If you want to throw discs at baskets and call it exercise, it works.

If you want to sit near water and make no decisions for a while, also works.

And because it is so close to the I-70/I-64 area, it has that strange magic of feeling easy to get to while still giving you enough trees and open space to forget you were just in traffic five minutes earlier.

No need to make it complicated.

Pack snacks.

Bring water.

Wear shoes you can actually walk in.

And the next time someone says there is nothing to do around here, you can quietly send them to the park with trails, ponds, disc golf, a dog park, and a horseshoe hall of fame.

Because apparently Wentzville contains multitudes.
