September is settling in, and apparently Wentzville has decided that slightly cooler weather is no reason to slow down.
This weekend brings opening day at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival, one last summer concert at Rotary Park, an art reception right here in Wentzville, and plenty more happening just down the road — from a citywide garage sale to PETaPalooza and one very busy weekend for art lovers in St. Charles.
So whether your ideal weekend involves jousting, live music, bargain hunting, or simply getting out of the house, you’ve got options.

Friday, September 11
📍 Historic North Main Street, St. Charles
⏰ Friday–Sunday, September 11–13
Historic Main Street becomes an outdoor gallery this weekend for the 31st annual Mosaics Fine Art Festival.
The free, family-friendly festival brings regional artists to St. Charles for three days of fine art, live entertainment, and plenty of browsing along Main Street. Expect everything from painting and photography to jewelry, ceramics, fiber, glass, wood, and more.
Even if you’re not in the market for a new piece of art, Main Street filled with artists is a pretty good reason to wander around for an afternoon.
Saturday, September 12
📍 Rotary Park, 2577 W. Meyer Road, Wentzville
⏰ 10 AM–6 PM
The gates open Saturday on another season of knights, royalty, jousting, live entertainment, food, shopping, and general medieval mischief at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival.
Opening weekend is a particularly good excuse to dust off the flower crown, practice your “Huzzah!,” or simply spend the day watching other people commit much more enthusiastically to the theme.
The festival continues Saturdays and Sundays through October 25.

Wentzville wraps up its America 250 Concert Series Saturday night with Ben Morgan & Whiskey Tango, bringing country, blues, and rock ’n’ roll to Rotary Park.
The free season finale also includes food trucks, children’s activities, and yard games.
If you’ve been meaning to catch one of these concerts all summer, procrastination has officially reached its deadline.
📍 Throughout Lake Saint Louis

Lake Saint Louis turns into one very large treasure hunt Saturday morning as residents across the city participate in the annual citywide garage sale.
Whether you’re hunting for furniture, kids’ gear, something collectible, or an object you absolutely did not know you needed until you saw it for $3, this is the morning to browse.
📍 Laurel Park, 3000 McClay Valley Blvd., St. Peters
⏰ 11 AM–1 PM
Laurel Park is going to the dogs Saturday — in the best possible way.
PETaPalooza brings together pet-friendly activities, vendors, and plenty of four-legged attendees for an afternoon designed for animal lovers. Bring your pup along for the fun, or come without one and enjoy everyone else’s.
It’s essentially a community festival where your dog may have a better social calendar than you do.
Sunday, September 13
📍 Lake Saint Louis Community Association, 100 Cognac Court, Lake Saint Louis
⏰ Half Marathon & 10-Miler: 7 AM; 5K: 7:15 AM
Runners take to the streets around Lake Saint Louis Sunday morning for the annual Lap the Lake race series, with half marathon, 10-mile, and 5K options.
Proceeds help support free community events, and participants receive a race shirt, medal, and post-race refreshments.
Registration is open through noon Saturday, September 12, or until the races fill. There is no race-day registration.
Apparently the scenic lake views come with hills. Consider yourself warned.
📍 Crossroads Arts Center, 310 W. Pearce Blvd., Wentzville
⏰ 2–4 PM
Crossroads Arts Council invites the public to its September reception and awards ceremony Sunday afternoon for the current Out of Place art show.
While you’re there, you can also see Olena’s Song, an exhibit featuring 25 intricate cross-stitch works by artist Olena Lutes, who will be at Sunday’s reception.
Admission is free, and it’s a nice chance to see what local artists have been creating without having to venture far from home.

Next Weekend in Wentzville
A quick calendar correction from last week: We told you there were two Wentzville fall festivals coming September 18–19. St. Patrick's Fall Festival is indeed that weekend; the other citywide event is Wentzville's Fall Citywide Yard Sale, not a downtown Fall Festival. Now that we've got the calendars untangled, here's what's actually happening...
St. Patrick Fall Festival
📍 St. Patrick Parish & School Grounds, 701 S. Church Street, Wentzville
⏰ Friday, September 18, 5–10:30 PM; Saturday, September 19, 2–10 PM
St. Patrick’s Fall Festival returns for two days of carnival rides, games, food, raffles, and live music.
Friday features On the Fence from 6–10 PM. Saturday brings Buddy Entwistle from 2–6 PM, followed by Isaac Mathews from 6–10 PM.
Admission is free. A two-day unlimited-ride presale is available through September 17 for $55.
Wentzville Fall Citywide Yard Sale
📍 Participating homes throughout Wentzville
⏰ Friday–Saturday, September 18–19, 8 AM–8 PM
Bargain hunters get their turn next weekend as Wentzville’s Fall Citywide Yard Sale brings sales to neighborhoods throughout the city.
No city permit is required for sales held September 18–19, and the City of Wentzville will provide a list of participating sales for shoppers who would rather have a plan than simply follow the nearest cardboard sign.
Between carnival rides and garage-sale treasure hunting, apparently Wentzville has decided next weekend is not for staying home.
