👋 What’s Up Wentzville!

Good morning! I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day weekend — and a big shoutout to everyone in retail, restaurants, and food service who made it happen for the rest of us.

I know I personally reached out to a handful of restaurants on Valentine’s Day (because I’m the worst and didn’t plan ahead) and everyone was BOOKED.

But, it ended up being the best Valentine’s Day we had in awhile, why? Because we went local!

We took our train-loving son to hear Grannie Annie talk about the history of Wentzville’s railroad at the Historical Society, had my wife’s favorite side (Smoked Gouda Potato Casserole) at Duke’s BBQ, and finished off the night with some gooey butter cake, ice cream and all you can eat chocolate covered strawberries at Ellbee's General Store (they were literally giving away all of them right before closing time). 🍓 🍫

I much preferred this over spending a few hundred dollars at a fancy or chain restaurant in St. Louis. Sometimes it pays off to procrastinate making plans! 😎

The smoked gouda potatoes are truly life-changing.

Alright — let’s get into it👇

❄️ Family-Friendly (While It’s Still Cold)

Looks like winter’s making a quick comeback this weekend. Here are a few solid local options to burn some energy this weekend:

Right here in town. Affordable skate rentals, toddler sizes available, and skate-aid trainers for beginners.

Great for:
• First-time skaters

Recliner seats. Big screens. Easy win.

If it’s freezing and you just want a low-effort family outing, this is a solid move.

Some family friendly movies showing are GOAT, Zootopia 2, and I Can Only Imagine 2.
