📰 Local News & Updates
🚨 Tornado Sirens Now Zoned in St. Charles County
St. Charles County has updated how its outdoor tornado warning sirens operate.
Instead of activating countywide, the system is now divided into four geographic zones. Going forward, sirens will only sound in the zones where dangerous weather is actually expected.
The change is designed to reduce unnecessary alarms and help residents take warnings more seriously when they hear them.
Officials still recommend residents rely on multiple warning methods during severe weather, including weather apps, NOAA radios, and emergency alerts on phones.
🗑️ Reminder: New Trash Carts Arriving Soon
Wentzville residents will begin receiving new trash, recycling, and yard-waste carts starting the week of March 16 as the city transitions to service with Meridian Waste.
New carts will be delivered on your regular trash day between mid-March and April, and your old carts will be picked up the following week. Continue using your current carts until they’re removed.
Key changes:
• Trash pickup days stay the same
• Meridian Waste will handle billing starting May 1
• New carts include RFID tags to track collections
• Personal yard-waste carts will no longer be accepted
For most households, the average monthly cost is expected to decrease, and recycling remains free.

In our last poll we asked what kinds of local businesses you'd like to discover more of, and the winner was clear: coffee shops & bakeries
So naturally, this week’s hidden gem is a local coffee shop… that happens to be inside a vintage camper!
You’ve probably seen it.
A flower-covered vintage camper parked off Highway P in Flint Hill that looks like it belongs in the middle of a summer festival.

That’s Flower Coffee Collective, and if you’ve driven past it thinking “I need to stop there sometime” — consider this your sign.
The shop operates out of a converted 1960s Nomad camper, wrapped in bright florals and somehow impossible to miss. What looks like a fun roadside coffee stop quickly turns into one of those places you end up recommending to friends.
Flower Coffee Collective was started by local owner Faith McDonald, who launched the business at just 19 years old after fast-tracking school, securing a loan, and finding the camper during a trip to Texas. The ambition behind that story still shows up in the way the business runs today.
The menu goes well beyond basic coffee.
Yes, you’ll find cold brew, drip coffee, and lattes, but there are also Lotus plant-based energy drinks, blended frappes, and a flavor list that runs deep — lavender, honey, salted caramel, mango, coconut, blue raspberry, and plenty more depending on your mood that morning.

And if you stop, do yourself a favor and grab one of the homemade donuts.
The setup is quick and easy for drive-through coffee runs, but there’s also outdoor seating if you want to sit for a bit and enjoy the quiet Flint Hill countryside.
And if you’ve followed them online, you already know this isn’t just a coffee stop. Flower Coffee Collective regularly hosts fundraisers and community events, supporting local families and organizations whenever they can.
It’s exactly the kind of small business that makes this area special.

🕕 Mon–Fri: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
🕖 Sat: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
🚫 Closed Sunday
If you’ve been meaning to try it — this might be the week to finally pull in.

Quick Question…
Do you plan to attend any St. Patrick’s Day festivities this weekend?

That’s all for this week!
If you know about an event, business, or local story that should be featured in a future issue, feel free to reply and let me know. I always enjoy hearing about things happening around town.
And if someone forwarded this to you, you can subscribe here so you don’t miss the next one.
Have a great week Wentzville ☘️
