Well, Wentzville, it looks like we’ve got ourselves a pretty good weekend ahead. There’s a movie under the stars, trivia with friends, an evening adventure for the little ones, Oktoberfest just down the road, and a few October events already sneaking onto the calendar.
So whether you’re looking for something fun to do, something new to try, or just a good excuse to get out of the house, we’ve got a few ideas for you.

📌 A Few Things to Know
🚧 Road Work Continues
If you're heading out around Wentzville this week, keep a couple of road projects on your radar. Schroeder Creek Boulevard and William Dierberg Drive will have nightly, intermittent closures through Friday, September 25, generally from about 8 PM to 5:30 AM. Detours will direct traffic around the closures using Great Oaks Boulevard and Wentzville Parkway.
Mexico Road is also closed from Josephville Road to Hancock Road as part of the ongoing Mexico Road Improvement Project. That closure is expected to remain in place through the end of 2026.
🏊 Progress Park Recreation Center Continued Maintenance Closing
Progress Park Recreation Center is closed through September 27 for annual facility maintenance and is expected to reopen after the scheduled maintenance period.
📅 Events Around Wentzville
Friday, September 25
📍 Rotary Park, Wentzville
⏰ 6:30–9:30 PM
Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and head to Rotary Park for an evening of food, fun, and community. Local food trucks will be serving dinner and dessert, with activities for the kids and a chance to hang out with local police officers before settling in for a showing of Zootopia 2 on a giant LED screen.
Gates open at 6:30 PM, and the movie starts at approximately 7:45 PM. The first 200 people will also get free popcorn.
And the best part? It's FREE.
📍 Wentzville Community Club, 500 W. Main St., Wentzville
⏰ Doors open at 6 PM; trivia begins at 7 PM
Round up your smartest friends — or at least the ones who are really good at guessing — for the Wentzville Community Historical Society's second annual Trivia Night. Last year's event drew more than 200 people, and this year's evening includes trivia, silent auctions, raffles, and door prizes.
A table of eight is $200, with proceeds benefiting the Wentzville Community Historical Society Museum.
Saturday, September 26
📍 Broemmelsiek Park – Dog Park Entrance, 4301 Wilson Road, Wentzville
⏰ 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Stay up late — but not too late! Little ones can enjoy an owl story, make a craft, and head out on a guided walk around the lake with a park ranger as the sun goes down.
This program is FREE, but preregistration is required. It's a particularly fun option for families with preschool-age children and younger.
📍 City Hall Park, 2032 Hanley Road, Dardenne Prairie
⏰ Noon–9:00 PM
A full day of family fun, with vendors, inflatables, face painting, a rock-climbing wall, food trucks, and more. The afternoon activities run from noon–5 PM, followed by live music in the evening.
School of Rock takes the stage at 4:30 PM, followed by the Well Hungarians from 6–9 PM. Fireworks are planned to cap off the evening.
The event itself is FREE, although food and some activities may have a cost.
📍 Frontier Park, St. Charles
⏰ Friday 4–11 PM; Saturday 10 AM–11 PM; Sunday 10 AM–5 PM
Oktoberfest returns to Frontier Park for its 40th year, bringing three days of music, dancing, German food, contests, vendors, and plenty of lederhosen.
If you've never been, this is one of those big fall traditions that can easily turn into a full afternoon or evening in St. Charles.
📍 St. Charles Market on Main Street

Coffee lovers, this one's for you. The Saint Charles Market Coffee Festival is back, with local coffee shops and vendors serving up their best roasts. You can sample, compare, and even vote for your favorite.

Start planning now for the St. Charles County Parks Fall Harvest Festival. Expect pumpkins, hayrides, crafts, food, and plenty of family-friendly fall fun.
📍 Historic Main Street, St. Charles
⏰ 3–10 PM
🔞 21+
If you're looking for an excuse to get dressed up and have some grown-up Halloween fun, put this one on the calendar. Witches on Main takes over Historic Main Street for seven hours of shopping, sipping, dining, music, contests, prizes, and "Witch Stops" at participating businesses.
The $50 ticket includes an event T-shirt, swag bag, exclusive specials and stops, drink and dining deals, door prizes, a costume contest with more than $500 in prizes, and admission to the official after-party. It's rain or shine.
Note: The deadline to guarantee the 2026 event T-shirt has already passed, but tickets are still available.
📍 Frenchtown, St. Charles
⏰ Parade 10 AM; vendor fair 10:30 AM–noon, Saturday, October 3
Dress up your pet and join the parade through Frenchtown. Proceeds benefit the City of Saint Charles Animal Shelter.
